What struck me is your line "To my knowledge nobody's ever tried to replicate the haunted doll's house in fiction...", and was reminded of an excellent, deeply weird story by Robert Aickman, titled "The Inner Room". If you're not familiar with this one, I strongly suggest you track it down. It's one of the most frightening things I've ever read, and very much about a doll's house.
